Media Monetization Strategist Helping Clients to Leverage the Power of Media

By Joycelyn Osborne | January 2023

Dr. Dawn J. Anderson, DHL is a serial entrepreneur and has founded or co-founded several successful business entities, including Celebrity Boss, a new media outlet for and about business owners; One Neo Geo Media, a digital marketing and branding company that has worked with several global brands, powering companies worldwide with innovative marketing solutions and PR Maxx, a news release syndication and booking company.

Additionally, Anderson is the creator of the soon-to-be-launched Media Monetization Academy, a series of online courses that teach business owners how to leverage the power of media to expand their brand, attract high-paying clients and generate more revenue.

“These companies and services work individually or collectively to help authors, coaches, consultants, speakers, and entrepreneurs needing help jumpstarting their visibility,” shared Anderson. “In addition, I am working with highly skilled, seasoned, and results-oriented public relations, marketing, and journalism professionals to ensure success for our customers,” said Anderson.

Anderson says she’s always been a big dreamer, but it was her mother who helped to guide her dreams toward business ownership.

“I got my entrepreneurial spirit and drive from my beloved mother, who transitioned a few years ago, but who taught me so much about how to run a business,” shared Anderson. “We worked together on several businesses, including Caravan Xpress, an e-commerce company, which was featured in media outlets like Associated Press, BBC News, Essence Magazine, etc., which helped to propel the business to another level,” Anderson continued. “My mother was a true mentor and taught me how important it is to learn how to conceptualize, build, operate, grow and pass on a business to realize generational wealth,” she said.

A Harlem, NY native who now calls Atlanta home, Anderson began her career as a professor in Biological Sciences after attending the University of South Carolina. In addition to building her various businesses, including the nonprofit, Angelic Ambassadors Foundation, which works to fill the needs of the underserved in the U.S. and abroad, the mother of five has many other interests.

“There are many layers and compartments to me, and my businesses, all of which I work to continuously hone and develop to ensure me and my companies are bringing value and serving assets to my clients, business partners, sponsors, and collaborators, as well as to my family and friends,” Anderson said.

According to Anderson, she is motivated by the concept and potential of passing on generational wealth and wants to ensure she continues in the same vein as her mother.”

“I am now the matriarch of my family, and my mission is to ensure I create, develop and leave behind a legacy of personal and professional success for my children. This, of course, includes financial success, ” said Anderson, who is also a real estate investor. “It’s hard work, but loving the work that does, working toward financial freedom and one day being able to live life on my terms, motivates me to push through on those very challenging days, which we all experience from time to time,” she said.

As Anderson looks forward to a successful 2023, she says that some of the most important lessons she’s learned on her entrepreneurial journey thus far are that systems beat goals and mentorship and coaching are vital to business success.

“Creating and executing systems that work effectively, cost-efficiently, and profitably is what my various business entities are all about,” continued Anderson. “Collaboration beats the competition, and I am looking forward to partnering with other businesses in 2023 and beyond, as well as serving thousands of business owners who need our unique professional offerings,” she said.
